It’s July 25, 1978, and in-vitro fertilisation is born. Louise Brown’s arrival by caesarian section at Oldham General Hospital, was a golden moment for modern science – albeit to many a controversial one – with IVF ending nine years of heartbreak for parents Lesley and John. Louise would go on to bring her own child, son Cameron, into the world via natural birth, on December 20, 2006.
